About Alfie

Alfie is a very good playful boy around people he knows. Alfie never barks and behaves well at home - he has never broken/destroyed anything during the 2+ years that we've had him. Unfortunately, we are looking for a new family for him as we are expecting a baby, and Alfie is sometimes too active and has fear aggression. Alfie is very playful and loves to run and play. He used to go to doggy daycare, but he is not very good with unknown dogs because of his reactivity. He is looking for a home without other pets, or very slow introduction is required. We are currently working with a private in-home trainer to prepare Alfie for a better transition to a new home. Alfie has plenty of toys and loves to play with all of them. He walks twice a day, but would not mind being walked more. He also loves to sunbathe in the backyard during the daytime. Alfie would prefer a new home without other pets (or we will need to make sure he is good with a particular dog in the family as he might be reactive, especially at first). No kids either. He likes to spend time in the backyard, so large backyard space would be beneficial. He has his evening zoomies every day, so he needs to play, run and goof around. Alfie knows basic commands and, in a calm environment, he would do a lot of tricks and follow all the commands. He might pull and get distracted on walks though when there are other dogs/a lot of people around. He is crate trained (somewhat), but has separation anxiety, and would prefer a family that could spent time with him without leaving for long periods of time. Alfie is on a prescription diet because of digestive problems. He is on Royal Canin Gastrointestinal dry kibble. He is neutered, and all of his vaccines are up-to-date. We are looking for responsible people who are ready to take care of Alfie considering his special needs. Alfie is very loving, smart and curious, but he is just socially awkward and reactive.
