Meet Camille DOB: 02/02/2021 Location: Willoughby, OH Camille is everything people love about Great Danes wrapped into one beautiful, goofy, affectionate package. This sweet girl is equal parts gentle companion and playful house horse, happiest when she's close to her people and part of everyday life. One of Camille's favorite pastimes is carrying around her beloved stuffies, proudly parading them through the house like prized possessions. She also loves riding in the car with her head out the window, soaking in the sights and smells of the world around her. When it's time to relax, Camille is more than happy to curl up on the couch beside you, enjoying a quiet evening and plenty of affection. Camille enjoys spending time outdoors, especially lounging in the grass and soaking up the sunshine. When the weather turns cold, however, she quickly handles business outside and heads right back in to her warm, cozy home. She also loves treats - frozen yogurt, peanut butter, and blueberry snacks are among her favorites (though canned pumpkin is definitely not on her approved list!). Bath time isn't Camille's favorite idea at first, but once she's in the tub, she's calm, cooperative, and even hands out soapy-faced kisses. She's a gentle, easygoing girl who is happy to go along with whatever her people are doing. Camille is fully house trained, crate trained, and rides beautifully in the car. She walks nicely on leash, although she may pull with excitement when she sees other dogs. She does well free-roaming in the home and has proven to be trustworthy when left alone, with no accidents or destructive behavior - aside from occasionally pawing at blankets to create the perfect sleeping nest. Camille is incredibly people-oriented and thrives on companionship. She can be slightly slow to warm up to some men, particularly those with beards, but with a little time - usually 10-15 minutes - she quickly becomes their best friend. She has also done well with visitors in the home and has been friendly with workers coming and going during household projects. She has been gentle with young children, including toddlers, and has also done well with teenagers. Camille enjoys the company of other dogs and has had positive interactions with a variety of personalities, though some smaller or more timid dogs may initially take time to adjust to her larger size. She loves running in the yard and will happily chase squirrels and rabbits, though she's never caught one. Camille is protective of her family in certain situations and forms strong bonds with her people, which is very typical of the breed. With thoughtful introductions and continued structure, she settles in nicely and continues to show her sweet, loving personality. Camille has no known medical concerns and is believed to be around five years old, though she has an energetic, youthful spirit. She is adaptable and would do well in a variety of homes - whether that's a quieter household or one with more activity. She's happy sleeping in her crate, on her own bed, or even sharing the bed with her humans. Camille's ideal home is one where she can be part of the family, receive plenty of affection, and enjoy both relaxed evenings and occasional activity. She's a loving, loyal companion who wants nothing more than to be near her people and share in everyday life.
