Apollo - 11 Month Old Belgian Malinois / Dutch Shepherd Mix (Working-Type Dog) Apollo is an 11-month-old Belgian Malinois / Dutch Shepherd mix with a strong, athletic build and high working potential. He is extremely intelligent, alert, and energetic-this is NOT a beginner dog and not suited for a low-activity household. He thrives when he has structure, direction, and a job to do. Temperament & Personality %BD' Very high energy and driven %BD' Intelligent and learns quickly %BD' Alert and naturally protective %BD' Bonds strongly with his handler %BD' Needs consistent leadership and structure This is the type of dog that will excel with the right person and struggle with the wrong one. Training & Behavior %BD' Still young and very trainable %BD' Needs continued obedience and structure %BD' Would do well in: %BD' Working homes %BD' Protection training %BD' Sport (IGP/Schutzhund) %BD' Active/security-oriented lifestyle Kids & Other Animals %BD' Infant in home (3 months old) - Apollo has been around a baby environment, but due to his energy level, he will need proper management and supervision around small children %BD' Cat in home - he has been exposed to a cat, but adopters should be experienced and prepared to manage or continue training depending on prey drive Because of his energy and drive, he may do best in a home that understands introductions, boundaries, and control. Ideal Home Apollo will ONLY be placed in a home that meets the following: %BD' Experience with working breeds (Malinois, Shepherds, etc.) %BD' Ability to provide daily physical AND mental stimulation %BD' Consistent training and structure %BD' Not left alone for long hours daily %BD' Preferably a yard or active lifestyle Not ideal for: %BD' First-time dog owners %BD' Low-energy households %BD' People gone 10-12+ hours daily Reason for Rehoming Due to work demands and schedule, I cannot give Apollo the time, structure, and engagement that a dog like him requires. This decision is being made to ensure he ends up in a home where he can thrive. Adoption Requirements %BD' Must have experience with high-drive or working dogs %BD' Must be committed to training and structure %BD' Must be honest about lifestyle %BD' Must be willing to do a meet-and-greet %BD' Rehoming fee: negotiable, mainly in place to ensure serious adopters Important This is a serious working-type dog, not a casual pet. If you're looking for a laid-back, low-maintenance dog, Apollo is NOT the right fit. But in the right hands, he has the potential to be an exceptional companion and working partner.
