About Howdy

You know those dogs that just warm your heart and give you their all? That's me- Howdy! I'm a 3-year old cup of sunshine! I wake up and want to start the day fresh and excited! I roll on my back and wiggle and try to make you laugh. If I'm lucky enough to go on a walk, I walk perfectly on your left side for as long as you want to walk! I am an athlete at heart and love to live in that whenever the opportunity arises. Swimming is my favorite sport apart from sprinting in wide open spaces. Water is where I understand and make sense of the world, and even just standing in it makes me feel at peace. I have come across so many dogs, and I find them to be interesting and enjoy playing with the ones who like to run and frolic. If they don't want that, then I read their body language and move on my way. I'm really good at listening to dogs and respecting their boundaries. The car is a place where I love to be, if for no other reason than I know it's going to take me somewhere wonderful! I just calmly sit in the backseat and await the moment we stop and get to our adventure, even if that adventure is just to the store, which I love to go in with you and patiently wait while you do what you need to do. Even though I love to have my bursts of energy, I can handle laying around when that is what you need from me. I'm a pretty perfect mix of chill and active based on the situation. But here's the thing: I will appear shy and withdrawn at first meet. This is how I am with everybody at first. It's just who I am. But it's not for long, and once I establish that you are trustworthy and kind, I will then bark my high-pitched bark of joy at your arrival! I will spin and jump for joy when you come into the room. My shyness is just an initial thing but has no intention of being there long. Your patience will reward you with all my loyalty, silliness, and love. In no time, I will be at your hip as you read or watch tv. At night, I like to sleep next to you under the covers. Loving you will be the purpose of my life. I am crate-trained and quiet as a mouse, though am not destructive or anxious when left out of it, either. I am neutered and microchipped.
