About Dixie

Meet Dixie! A 7 month female AKC Belgian Malinois. My husband and I got her as a pup, she's been raised on 40 acres with lots of room to roam, never any issues of her running off. We never had her fenced in. We've taught her basic commands, sit, lay down, safe (goes between legs). We've been working on recall however when distracted she doesn't come right away. We had a baby a few month ago and with plans to move in the coming months we won't be able to keep her. She's a wonderful dog, very smart and loyal. We have had her around other dogs, she is reserved at first and weary but will quickly warm up and enjoys playing and running around. This is a high drive dog breed, she needs a home with lots of room to run, and flexibility of owners to spend time training and giving mental stimulation. Also being attached to owners she is naturally reserved of strangers and will need to grow in confidence when new people come around.
