About Charlie

Charlie is a very cute 6 year old Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix. While he gets his coloring from the Chihuahua side, he is all Jack when it comes to personality. He easily communicates his needs. He is very intelligent, energetic and tenacious. He is very vocal, enjoys lots of exercise and mental stimulation. Charlie understands approximately 500 words/commands. He learns new tricks very quickly. He likes food puzzles and Kongs and prefers to work for his treats. He enjoys being outside with his owner. He loves to sleep under his blanket in his kennel. He likes cats and most dogs and would really enjoy a furry friend to play with. Once he is introduced to new neighbors, he easily charms them so he can get lots of attention. He never forgets a friend and stops at the end of their driveway looking to see if they're home. He is best suited for young, active owners who can take him for long walks and runs, teach him new tasks, and give him lots of petting. Charlie loves to help with yard work and is usually right in the middle of what you're trying to do. He has a strong prey drive, and is easy to train using treats most of the time. We have not been successful at overcoming his tendency towards resource guarding. Not good with young children.
