4/16 deadline!!!! CODE RED AT PHOENIX, AZ - ID #A5162712 - 'FRIDA'- BEAUTIFUL BUT NEGLECTED 4 YR CHOW GIRL AT MARICOPA COUNTY ANIMAL CARE, WEST LOCATION- RESCUE ONLY (NHO) - MUST SEE VIDEOS IN FB POST! NEEDS FOSTER AND RESCUE ASAP-RESCUES CANNOT HELP WITHOUT A FOSTER & PLACE FOR A DOG TO GO! SHY AT SHELTER AND WITH DERMATITIS SO MADE RESCUE ONLY! NOW ON DEADLINE FOR 4/16 TO COMMIT OR 'May be at risk for euthanasia 4/17/26 or sooner if warranted' per shelter. THUS, SHE WILL LIKELY BE EUTHANIZED 4/17 in AM. SHE IS 'RESCUE ONLY' BY A 'NEW HOPE PARTNER ONLY' which means she can NOT be adopted from the shelter directly, and a New Hope partner must pull her out. Emergency/soon to be euthanized! We are in urgent need of finding a chow savvy foster, or at least a foster familiar with chows or similar Asian or spitz breeds. 'FRIDA' is a stunning but neglected cream female chow weighing 53 lbs and estimated to be 4 years old. She was found as a stray and may be related to the male cream chow also found as a stray a bit before (who is also shy and Rescue only and in slightly better condition). Sadly, because Frida has been a little shy as is so common for the breed, the shelter made her Rescue Only and put her on a short deadline of 4/16 despite her starting to warming up. In fact, shelter notes say she was giving a lick to staff. We just received videos we will post on Facebook. Additional behavior and medical details may be found on this link: https://apps.pets.maricopa.gov/priority/Details/OTI5-Mjg4-MTZB Frida may also have entropion or an eye infection which a rescue may assist with necessary medical. We are urgently looking for ideally a foster or foster to adopt for Frida, and chow, Asian and or spitz breed experience recommended. This shelter has made many chow and chow mixes Rescue only, and already killed many who were also shy and young adults. Please do not let this dear girl meet the same awful fate. If you may be interested in fostering, fostering to adopt, or helping in some other way (ie., pledging for his rescue), please email: [email protected] asap at Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to find placement asap, AND also fill out a foster application on https://dogfoster.org/ and https://azfosters.com/ so all entities can work on pairing a foster to a rescue group to help. Rescues can assist with neuter and medical. Rescue groups may contact the shelter directly at: [email protected] and by calling 602-506-7387 and providing ID.
