Meet Twix 17 lbs Dachshund mix about 1-2 yrs old. Twix is available for adoption through Tracy's Paws Rescue and can be transported to the Dublin, Ohio area on April 25, 2026, with an approved application and committed adoption. His adoption fee is $450 which includes transport. Twix is an adorable dachshund mix with a story I will never forget. I met him at the Weslaco shelter in deep South Texas, where he was so frightened he was hiding under a Kuranda bed, trying to disappear. At first, he didn't want to be touched-but within minutes, everything changed. He gently buried his head in my lap, as if he knew he was finally safe. When I stepped out to continue evaluating dogs, I told the caretaker, 'I'll take him.' A few moments later, I heard a heartbreaking scream. The caretaker hadn't hurt him-just placed a slip lead-but Twix panicked. In that moment, it was clear: he had chosen his person. When I went back in, he ran straight to me like I was the only one he trusted. That's who Twix is. He's a soulful little dog with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He bonds deeply with his person and loves to be close. While he gets along well with other dogs, Twix would much rather be by your side than anywhere else.
