�Ϭ Small Body, Big Heart; Seeking a Patient Soul �Ϭ Meet Sassafrass! This small treasure is looking for a quiet home where she can finally feel safe. Sassafras may be timid at first, often watching the world from a secure hideout, but once she trusts that you and her new environment are safe, she is the most loyal, affectionate little shadow you could ask for. Her southern foster mom described her as velcro. Sassafrass is looking for a patient household who understands the 3-3-3 rule: she will need time to adjust. Upon arriving to Pennsylvania, she stayed in a safe space where she could watch without interacting for about a week. Then one day, she felt secure and confident and suddenly blossomed! She joined the other dogs in play and began following her foster mom everywhere, just a step behind her. If you have a warm lap and a patient heart, Sassafrass will repay you for your patience with endless love and companionship. Sassafrass is 4 year old, 11 lb spayed Chihuahua mix, and is current on vaccines. She is fostered in Harrisburg, PA with both cats and dogs in her environment. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter.
