Vero (A288673) is a 9-year-old German Shepherd mix weighing 67 pounds who is in urgent need of placement by April 14 at 4:00 PM or he will be euthanized. This gentle senior is running out of time and desperately needs someone to step up for him. Vero is an easygoing, well-mannered dog who walks nicely on leash and takes treats softly, showing his sweet and calm nature. He has pannus, an eye condition that requires lifelong drops, and he is beginning to lose his sight, making his situation even more heartbreaking. The shelter will provide his eye medication during foster and will send him home with an additional six months of drops upon adoption. Vero has met other dogs and has done okay, but because of his age and vision loss, he would do best with calm, respectful dogs or in a quiet home where he can feel safe.
