About Missy

Adoption Fee: $100
Domestic Cat
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Meet Missy This little beauty has lost her home twice-first when her owner moved to a nursing home, and again recently after a brief adoption with her sister Sissy. The feedback we received is that they seemed to be stressed living in a small apartment together. We believe both cats are stressed by each other and by more dominant cats. We believe they would thrive best in separate homes as solo pets or with a very quiet kitty companion. Both of their mamas loved them dearly and said they were nothing but sweet and affectionate, so we believe they will do best without each other. Sometimes sisters just don't get along! But as a solo cat, Missy will be a loyal and loving companion. Missy is a sweet tuxedo about 4 years old who welcomes affection with purrs and snuggles once she feels comfortable . Now she is clearly sad to be back in the shelter, surrounded by other cats. She stays as far away from them and her sister as she can. She seems to look to staff and volunteers for relief from all the cats around her. If interested in Missy, please submit an application at https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org On the home page, please select Download Cat Adoption Application. After submitting, please email us at [email protected] to let us know you have submitted it. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://smithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open. Our shelter is closed to the general public. However, for approved adopters we are making appointments to meet and adopt your fur baby.
