About Rocco

Rocco is truly one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. He absolutely loves cuddles and being close to his people. He was originally found wandering the streets in Sacramento by a friend, and we welcomed him into our home. Rocco is so adorable and thoroughly enjoys his walks. He also enjoys treats, loves his toys, and has a playful side-but he's very good at letting you know when he'd like some quiet time. He'll happily cuddle up with you and then wander off to chew on a toy or relax on his own. He's also a big fan of a good 'sploot,' which always brings a smile. Rocco does have a small burn mark on his back. Unfortunately, we don't know how he got it prior to coming into our care, but it hasn't taken away from his spark or his wonderful, loving personality in any way. Rocco is currently working with a professional trainer to help with some behaviors like jumping, occasional mouthing, and mild reactivity. He's been making progress, and continued consistency will help him thrive. He has never shown aggression toward me and is a loving, loyal companion. If circumstances were different, I would keep him in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, due to family limitations and changes in our situation, we are no longer able to give him the home he deserves. This is an incredibly difficult decision, and my biggest hope is to find him a kind, patient, and loving home. I'm currently working with a trainer and would strongly encourage anyone interested in adopting Rocco to continue attending training sessions with me to help support a smooth transition and set him up for success. Rocco deserves a home full of love, and I know the right person or family is out there for him.
