Meet Herbie Herbie is a 6-year-old male currently living in a boarding facility in Phoenix, Arizona. He and his brother Brutus lost their home after their owner passed away, and the person who stepped in to care for them is no longer able to do so. Now, Herbie is waiting for a stable, loving home where he can finally settle in. Herbie is deaf and has cerebellar hypoplasia, a condition he has had since birth. He moves a little differently at times, but it does not slow him down, and most people hardly notice. He is house trained, very sweet, and has a gentle, easygoing personality. He knows 'sit,' loves affection, and bonds closely with his people. He rides well in the car and walks nicely on leash, making him a great companion for hikes, walks, or simply spending time together. He enjoys exploring new environments, sniffing around, and also has a calm, affectionate side-he leans in for pets and especially loves belly rubs. Herbie does well with other dogs, particularly those his size, but should not be in a home with small dogs or cats. Due to his size and the possibility of accidentally knocking someone over, a home with older children would be best. He is a big, loving dog with a kind heart and a lot to offer. Herbie has been through significant change and is ready for a home where he can feel safe, loved, and part of a family.
