Courtesy Posting: URGENT AT BALDWIN PARK, CA (SO CAL) ID #A5767118 LOS ANGELES COUNTY ANIMAL SERVICES- 'SCARLETT' MAY BE ADOPTABLE AFTER TEMP TEST, BUT MAY NEED FOSTER AND RESCUE - 4 YR FEMALE CHOW - looking for a LOVING, FOREVER HOME, FOSTER, FOSTER TO ADOPT AND OR A RESCUE TO SAVE HER. We are in urgent need of finding a responsible and caring home, or foster and rescue, for this adorable but very neglected, female chow who was found as a stray and brought to the shelter on 4/4. She is expected to become urgent following her stray and chip hold ending on or about 4/14/26. We are calling her Scarlett, and the shelter estimates she is only 4 years young. We are not anticipating her owner will show up to reclaim her given she came in with a very unkept coat, a possible hematoma on her ear, and wheezing when panting. She has been placed on doxy for 10 days, and we are hoping she will feel much better. Upon intake, she was growling not too surprisingly. A volunteer was able to get us video in her kennel where she is barking for attention and wanting someone to save her. Scarlett will be awaiting a behavior temperament test before she can be made adoptable. Hopefully she passes both behavior and medical, or she will be made Rescue only and become very urgent. If Rescue Only, any potential adopters will need to go through a rescue group. And most rescues will either need a foster or a foster to adopt to save her.
