He's a charming, affectionate dog who will happily roll over for a tummy rub from just about anyone, greeting people with a soft, easygoing nature. Desi is impressively adaptable and does well in high-distraction environments. He recently handled a busy weekend walk at Venice Beach with ease, remaining comfortable, neutral, and confident the entire time. He walks nicely on leash and is easy to guide, making him a great companion for outings, errands, or relaxed neighborhood strolls. Around other dogs, Desi is comfortable and neutral. He tends to keep to himself and is selective socially, not seeking out much interaction. During a recent outing with another dog he showed little interest in engaging and remained calm and independent. When he does interact, his style is gentle and low-key. Additional notes about Desi: * Can show some reactivity when behind barriers * Generally prefers his own space around other dogs * Low energy overall, with bursts of goofy personality * Offers appropriate, friendly greetings with people * Easy to handle on leash and responsive to guidance Desi would do best in a home that appreciates his independent nature with other dogs while embracing his affectionate, people-loving side. He doesn't need a lot of dog-to-dog play to be happy-just a calm environment, some understanding, and plenty of belly rubs
