Am considered a longer-term doggie here (arrived Feb. 4th), besides being left here by my human, so at risk of being euthanized, when the shelter gets over-capacity, which happens often. Then I will be dumped into a black, garbage bag..., as if I was not worthy, no one or very few to mourn me, to remember me. Not pleasant thoughts, but it is the harsh reality. Have no idea why I was left here, what happened to my human, but I was a mom at least once before, accident or used as a breeder, I do not know. I do not even know my own age, since the human who left me here, did not leave an age. Am no puppy, but not a senior, either. That is my past, need to focus on the now. The now is, I only need one human to say yes to me, to take me home, to love me, so then, there will be no chance of me ending up in that trash bag. When I arrived at the shelter was very afraid, tried to make myself small in my kennel since was so afraid, but trying to be a brave girl, and little by little less afraid. I now make great eye contact with the volunteers, take treats from them readily, and like it very much when they pet me, since helps me be less afraid. I do pretty good with my sit. Please come meet me. Maybe take me home? Am a good girl. Come. Human speaking here now, please, please, if have the ability to adopt, even foster Lucetta (different process, I can explain), any of the dogs listed at the shelter on here, many more that aren't listed, come out to Chicago Animal Care and Control, contact this page. These dogs aren't 'just' at risk of being euthanized, very real risk, tragic on its own, but spend most of their time in their kennels, which is a tragedy upon a tragedy, to be locked up so much of the time. It shows what great dogs they are, that they are able to still continue to be great, even though only get out of their kennels 1-2 times a week, for about 20 min. each time. Any dog adopted from the shelter will be spayed/neutered at no charge, same for microchipping. If want to see other wonderful doggies, besides Lucetta, at Chicago Animal Care and Control, possibly save a life, who are also in great need of finding a loving home, scroll down and click on, 'Chicago Animal Care and Control', left-hand side. Come.
