About COCO

COCO is a one-year-old, 9-pound Poodle and/or Shih Tzu mix surrendered to us. She is a loving little girl who just wants to be near her person. COCO has a very sweet personality. She absolutely adores her person and will happily follow you from room to room just to be close. She prefers a lap whenever possible but will settle in a dog bed nearby if you're busy. She will need some time to settle into a new home. If she loses sight of her person, she may whine or cry, especially when left alone. Because of this, we do not feel apartment living would be the best fit for her. COCO would enjoy having another playful companion in the home to run and play with or simply to keep her company. At this time we are looking for a home with another small dog. She likely would do well with older children, though she has not been tested with kids or cats. COCO is housebroken and doing well with her routine. She is not very familiar with a harness and leash yet, but she does show potential with continued guidance and patience. She enjoys toys and chew bones, which help keep her happily occupied. COCO has a medium energy level and should have a home with a securely fenced yard, as she is curious and will look for small openings to explore. A kennel is not a good fit for her, as it causes her significant distress, so a gated area is a much better option when needed. At night, COCO wants to be right next to you and sleeps in bed close to her person. COCO is spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. Important - check your spam folder for follow up questions and responses from our team. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida. We do not have a physical facility for visits. We adopt within a 6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally (within 1 hour to Pensacola). We do not ship or transport our dogs.
