About Cody

**We are willing to bring her to you if it is a good fit - Located in BC Canada**. My husband and I rescued Cody in 2018 when she was a year and a half. She loves to run, chase a ball, swim in the ocean and be in the woods (we live on Vancouver Island). However, over the years she has become more aggressive (please inquire about her story - it began after a spay surgery that didn't work, she went into heat with out us knowing and was attacked by other dogs). We have worked on her for years and despite working with dog behaviouralists and trainers, with our young family (toddler + surprise twins) we have decided to find a better home for her. Once you're in her pack, she is the most loving and devoted dog. Gaining her trust takes time, consistency, and patience, but once she sees you as safe, she lets you in completely. It typically takes about a week of slow introductions and treat-based bonding. After that, she is loyal, affectionate, and incredibly sweet. She does have bite and lunge history. Level 3 bite (a nip that pierced the skin smaller than the size of her tooth). She lunges at dogs and people. This has been a heartbreaking decision, but we've come to recognize that she needs a home that is better suited to her sensitivities and her need for structure, exercise, patience, and calm. She would thrive in an adult-only household with someone experienced in working with heelers or reactive dogs-someone who can continue to support her with compassion and boundaries.
