Meet Laney: a loyal, playful girl who thrives in the right environment. Laney has been through a lot. She was attacked twice by another dog earlier in her life, which has made her anxious and reactive, especially around larger dogs and unfamiliar situations. Because of this, she needs a calm, structured home with an experienced owner who understands reactive dogs. Recently, Laney had a minor incident with a child in the home. She did not seriously injure him, but this reinforces that she is **not a fit for homes with kids**. She needs a calm, adult-only environment with an experienced owner who understands reactive dogs and can help too calm her. At home, she is very loving and playful. She enjoys playing with smaller animals and has done well with a small dog she's familiar with, as well as living with cats. She loves to play, has a fun personality, and bonds closely with her people. She does struggle with barking and can become overstimulated by new people, noises, and activity, so she is not a good fit for homes with children or busy environments. Walks in high-traffic areas are currently difficult for her. Laney would do best in: * An **adult-only home** * A home with **experience handling reactive or anxious dogs** * A quieter environment with **limited visitors** * Someone willing to continue working with her and helping her feel safe This is a very hard decision for our family, but with young children in the home, we cannot give her the environment she needs to succeed. We want to find her a home where she can feel safe, understood, and truly thrive.
