About Kobe

Belgian Malinois / German Shepherd
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Kobe is a great, energetic, ball of energy. He loves to play fetch, with any toy he can retrieve and bring back. Loves to play tug as well. As a Mal, he obviously is always ready to do a task. He does have some separation anxiety, so tends to follow you around. He was also attacked by a German Shepherd before I adopted him, which was December, 2023, so he gets reactive to dogs or small people in close promixities if movements are too sudden. He does have possessive issues, when it comes to toys or food. Something I learned along the way, with the interaction of my other dog. They do coexist fine, but they don't play together. He had seemed better at the beginning, but as time as passed and the few encounters, I've removed the risk of it happening again. He is great with people, not the best with tiny humans, since he tends to try and knock them over or herd them. He gets easily overstimulated, so the energy of a little human makes that level of stimulation hard to keep relaxed. Apart from that, he does whine on car rides when it comes to arriving or heading to destination. I think it has to do with the separation anxiety. He has minimal E collar training, but some, nonetheless. He's great on walks once he understands his handler. Otherwise, he will grab the lead from you and play tug with it. Hes good at listening to commands, and knows a handful of them. He sometimes will be relaxed and resting in one spot, then b line to his other spot in the house randomly, or even at times bark randomly. Might be due to having acid reflux, something I looked up that could be a factor, or something called focal seizures. A diagnosis my vet for him gave me, when I had noticed him randomly snapping at the air. He is crate trained and non destructive in the house. He needs to eat 3x a day, last feeding ideally closer to bedtime. Otherwise he will throw up bile upon waking up. He currently is on a kibble diet, Inukshuk Marine 25, mixed with Acana wet canned food every other day. Any other questions you can give me a call and I'll be happy to answer. I'm looking for a forever home for him, where he can thrive and get his full purpose in life as a Mal. It breaks my heart giving him up, so I need to make sure he is going to get the best life! I'm going through some personal things and am not able to continue to give him that forever home.
