About AXEL

Axel is a handsome jumbo dude with a nice personality, probably not quite 2 years old. Axel appears to be purebred and he does have a natural tail, but we have no way of knowing if he is mixed with other breeds. He will need a new home off base because Rotties are not allowed to live on Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base. He walks well on leash. Axel will 'sit' for a treat and he has a gentle mouth when taking the treats from you. He loves, loves, loves to play fetch and will bring the ball back to you so you can throw it again and again. He came to us at the shelter wearing a harness embroidered with 'Best Friend' so he's been somebody's best buddy! We are not sure yet how he is with other dogs, but we will check that out soon. You can always call for more updated info and/or to make an appointment to meet him and spend time in the play yard getting acquainted. He is, of course, a really big boy and will eat a lot, so consider your budget if planning to adopt any big dog. If you think bigger is better, and if your family is big-dog savvy, and you know and love the breed, then maybe he's a match for you. Want to meet him? Even if you don't have normal, regular access to the base, please DO give us a call and we will work with you to set up a meeting.
