Meet Sandy, a 6-year-old Shih Tzu with the sweetest soul and the cutest little dolly face you've ever seen. This adorable girl is the definition of a companion dog-gentle, loving, and happiest when she's close to her person. Sandy is looking for a very special home that matches her unique needs and personality. With her short little legs, stairs aren't her thing, so she'll need a home with minimal stairs or a family who doesn't mind giving her a lift when needed. She truly thrives on companionship, so an ideal home would be someone who works from home or a young retired couple who can spend plenty of time with her. She is wee-wee pad trained and prefers the comfort of being an indoor girl rather than spending much time outside. Sandy is currently doing amazing in her foster home, where she is absolutely adored, and it's easy to see why-she brings so much love and warmth wherever she goes. Sandy would do best in a home with another small dog, as she really enjoys the company of both people and canine friends. Due to past crate trauma, she cannot be crated and will need a family who is happy to let her sleep close by-she would love nothing more than to snuggle up in bed with you. She is being fostered in Fairfield, NJ, and is fully vetted-spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm and Lyme negative, microchipped, and dewormed.
