About Deuce (Deucey)

Deuce is a brindle pit bull terrier, approximately 2 years old (born December 5, 2023). He is a very sweet, loving, and loyal dog who enjoys playing and being around his family. He has never bitten anyone in our household and is generally gentle in familiar environments. However, Deuce is extremely timid and fearful. We adopted him at around five months old, and he was already very underweight and anxious at that time. Despite our efforts over the past two years, he continues to struggle with fear-based behaviors. He is easily startled by noises, barks frequently at unfamiliar sounds, and is especially fearful of thunder, some new people, and drilling noises. It takes him a significant amount of time to warm up to new environments and individuals. While he is not aggressive by nature, he can become reactive if he feels threatened. We believe he would benefit greatly from an experienced owner or a home that can provide specialized training and behavioral support. At this time, we are unfortunately unable to provide the level of training and care that Deuce needs to thrive. Our goal is to ensure he has the opportunity for a better quality of life with someone equipped to help him build confidence and feel secure.
