About COSMO

COSMO is a 1-year-old, 12.6 lb Maltese mix surrendered by his owner. He is a very sweet boy who needs a loving home to help him grow into the wonderful companion he is meant to be. COSMO is a friendly, energetic pup who absolutely loves people. He enjoys being around both men and women and quickly forms a strong attachment to his person. He follows his foster everywhere and always wants to be right by your side. He does have some separation anxiety and will cry when left alone, so he is not going to be happy spending hours alone. COSMO gets along well with other small dogs, but he can be a bit too energetic for older or more laid-back pups. He is learning a lot from the dogs in his foster home, and because of that, we feel he would do best in a home with another playful dog to help continue teaching him appropriate behaviors. His compatibility with cats and children is currently unknown. COSMO is still working on house training. He can use the doggie door but he is not fully potty trained yet and will have accidents if not kept on a consistent schedule. He is doing well with leash walking, though he has a lot of energy so we are looking for a fenced yard since that is ideal for him to safely run and play. He is not a fan of car rides and tends to whine while riding. COSMO is very food motivated and eats quickly, so he is currently fed separately from other dogs. He enjoys toys and will occasionally steal slippers when he gets bored. He is responsive when corrected and is learning, but he is still very much a puppy who needs guidance and structure. He would probably benefit from puppy training classes. At night, COSMO sleeps in bed with his people at night and loves snuggling close. COSMO is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. We do not have a physical facility for visits. We adopt within a 6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally (within 1 hour to Pensacola). We do not ship or transport our dogs.
