About Checkers

Checkers is a happy, affectionate, healthy 6 1/2 year old neutered male Pembroke Corgi. Being in our early 70's we realize that we likely will not be able to give him the home he needs for the long term. We want to find a new home for him before it becomes a necessity. Checkers is at a healthy, fit weight and eats a modestly priced dog food. He is caught up on his vaccinations including rabies and recently had a dental cleaning by the Ephrata Veterinary Clinic. He needs a home with a fenced yard and no other dogs or cats. Adult couples or singles or families with older children who are interested may contact us. We have had him in our home since early December, 2025 when our son could no longer keep him. We have worked recently with Hailey Couture of Wild Whiskey Dog Training for better leash control and other behavior adjustments. He knows basic commands. Checkers is very smart and loves to 'work' for us. He is crate trained in the house and in the car. He likes to retreat into his 'box' when he needs time to chill.
