About JUNEBUG

JUNEBUG is a beautiful 23-month-old Cocker Spaniel weighing just under 17 pounds. She came into rescue as an owner surrender due to life changes in her previous home, absolutely no fault of her own. JUNEBUG is a very affectionate girl who loves being close to her person. She enjoys attention and will happily stay nearby, always wanting to be part of whatever you are doing. She can be a bit nervous in new surroundings, especially in her current foster home with several other dogs, which can feel overwhelming at times. Even so, she is adjusting well and growing more comfortable each day. JUNEBUG does well with other dogs but is not a fan of dogs in her face and will let them know if she is uncomfortable. She would do best with a calm, respectful furry companion who will give her space when she needs it. She enjoys toys and likes play, and as her confidence continues to build, we expect her playful side to come out more. She has not been tested with children, but due to her sensitive nature, we feel she would do best in a home without young children. Older, respectful kids may be just fine. JUNEBUG is still working on house training but is making great progress with a consistent routine. She has learned to use the dog door and will go outside, especially when something catches her interest. She is not much of an outside dog though and prefers to stay close to her person, so a fenced yard is not required as long as she is safely walked on a harness and leash. At night, JUNEBUG loves to sleep in the big bed, preferably under the covers. If she gets too warm, she will scoot right out on her own. She is a wonderful cuddle buddy and will happily snuggle up whenever she finds the perfect spot. When she came into rescue, JUNEBUG had a skin infection, but she has been treated with antibiotics and antifungal medications. Her skin is already improving and continues to look better each day as she settles into a healthy, stable environment. JUNEBUG is up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. Important - check your spam folder for follow up questions and responses from our team. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida. We do not have a physical facility for visits. We adopt within a 6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally (within 1 hour to Pensacola). We do not ship or transport our dogs.
