Redbone Coonhound Mix - Experienced Home Needed (No Children) Sparta is an 8-year-old Redbone Coonhound mix who is a genuinely affectionate and loyal dog in the right environment. He has been raised in the same home since he was a puppy and has many great qualities, including being social and capable of doing well with other dogs when properly managed. However, Sparta has a well-established history of resource guarding (primarily food and toys). He does give warning signals, but if those signals are not respected, he has escalated to biting in the past. Because of this, he is not safe for a home with children or inexperienced handlers. Due to a baby on the way and the level of management he requires, his current home is no longer a safe or appropriate fit. He is currently living under significant restriction (including frequent muzzle use), and we want to find him a home where he can safely have a better quality of life. Ideal home: ��%BD'� Experienced with resource guarding / behavior management ��%BD'� Adult-only household (no children) ��%BD'� Comfortable with structure, boundaries, and management tools ��%BD'� Able to continue safe handling practices around food and high-value items Sparta is not a 'bad dog'-he is a dog with specific behavioral needs that require the right environment.
