Meet Moira - A World of Love, Looking for Her Forever Home %BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD Moira is a 6.5-year-old Devon Rex with more personality than most people you'll ever meet. She was originally a retired breeding queen, and since December 2023, she's lived as a cherished companion - a true bachelorette living her best life. But the honest truth is this: Moira deserves more than what one busy person can offer her right now. And she knows it. That's why, with a full heart and a lot of love, I'm looking for the home she truly deserves. Who is Moira? Devon Rexes are often called the 'poodles of the cat world' - and Moira takes that title seriously. I call her my puppy cat, and here's why: %BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%90 She plays fetch - yes, really %BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BDZ%BD%BD%BD She understands and responds to commands %BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%8F%BD%BD%BD She needs mental and physical stimulation like a dog does %BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%A4%BD%BD%BD She warms up to humans instantly - no slow introductions needed %BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD She is equally playful and cuddly - funny one minute, melted into your lap the next %BD%BD%BD%9D%A4 She gives love unconditionally and completely She is, quite simply, one of the most loving animals I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. What Moira Needs: I want to be fully transparent, because Moira deserves a home that's ready for her: Time and presence. Moira thrives when her person is home. She does best with someone who works remotely, a multi-person household, or a retired individual. She gets lonely, and a lonely Moira is a sad Moira - and that's not okay. A second pet is not required, but she would likely do well with the right companion if that's your household. Older children are welcome - she's social, gentle, and adapts beautifully. Some known health considerations. As a Devon Rex, she has breed-common skin sensitivities and a scooting habit. A new family should be prepared to continue monitoring her health and ideally have the means for routine vet care. Why is she being rehomed? My life has changed significantly since adopting Moira. Between a demanding career, caring for an ill family member, and managing my own health, I am simply not able to give her what she needs - and she has felt it. She is not a cat who does well with loneliness, and she should never have to feel that way. This is not a decision made lightly. I have spent over a year exploring every alternative - reaching out to friends and family, and consulting with the local organizations. I adopted Moira with the intention of being her person for life. Letting her go is one of the hardest things I've done. But she deserves a full life, full of love, full of presence - and someone out there can give her exactly that. If you think you might be Moira's person: Please be someone who has time. Who wants a cat that will follow you room to room, make you laugh every single day, and curl up on you the second you sit down. Someone who will love her as fiercely as she will love you - from the very first moment. She has a world's worth of love to give. She just needs somewhere safe to put it. %BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%8D%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%90%BE
