About SPROUT

SPROUT is a 5-month-old, 8 pound Chihuahua mix with a heart full of love and a personality that will absolutely steal yours. He was found as a stray with several other dogs in the country, presumably dumped. The finder was unable to locate an owner and asked us to take them in. SPROUT loves being close to his people and will happily curl up next to you on the big bed or snuggle in close while you relax and watch TV. He is incredibly sweet and affectionate, always ready to give kisses and soak up attention. He also enjoys simply being close to his person, whether that's laying by your side or stretched out across your chest soaking up affection. SPROUT does very well with other small dogs and enjoys having canine companions. He loves to play outside and is happiest when he's running around playing chase, tag, or tug-of-war with his dog friends. Because of how much he enjoys companionship and play, we do not feel he would do well as an only dog. A home with another small, playful dog would be ideal for him. He has not been tested with larger dogs, so a home with dogs his size or smaller is recommended. We have not had him around kids but think he would be fine with children familiar with little dogs. Cats are an unknown. SPROUT is working on his potty training and will need a consistent routine and encouragement as he learns. With structure and patience, he should continue to make good progress. A fenced yard is required so he has a safe space to play and burn off his puppy energy. He loves toys, especially chew sticks and crinkle toys. At night, SPROUT sleeps in bed with his foster and the other dogs in his foster home, often tucked under the covers. SPROUT is neutered, up to date on shots, has been fecal tested, started on heartworm prevention, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. Important - check your spam folder for follow up questions and responses from our team. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida. We do not have a physical facility for visits. We adopt within a 6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally (within 1 hour to Pensacola). We do not ship or transport our dogs.
