They spent their lives with one elderly owner (a truck driver) and had very limited interaction with the outside world. Because of this, many of them can be skittish and unsure around new people and environments. ��%90%BE What they're used to: �'ۢ Going in and out of a dog door �'ۢ Sleeping in bed with their person �'ۢ Living with other small dogs ��%90%BE What they need: �'ۢ A patient, committed adopter who understands rescue dogs �'ۢ A slow transition into their new home �'ۢ Safe confinement at first (small room + wee wee pads) to build trust �'ۢ Time to bond at their pace ��s� These are NOT dogs that can be put straight into a backyard - they are flight risks and can easily get lost if scared. ���� In my experience, they do BEST in homes that: �'ۢ Already have another small, confident dog �'ۢ Are willing to follow guidance and give them time to adjust �'ۢ Understand that trust is earned, not forced The amazing news? �%9D%A4��%8F Several have already been successfully adopted by families who followed these steps - and they are now thriving in their new lives!
