About Rufus

Rufus is one of life's gentle giants - the kind who looks like he might make a great guard dog but is more likely to hide behind your legs if there's a spider in the bath. This sweet soul is shy at first but after a while he will open up, wag his tail and come sit next to you for an ear scratch or some petting. He is smart in an understated way - you don't realize he's picked up words and commands until he wows you with what he has taken in. He is an affectionate boy with some Velcro tendencies but he is also able to be left home alone when you leave the house. He loves car rides, takes his naps extremely seriously and is extremely loyal and devoted.
