Please, help me. Am in danger when the shelter gets over-capacity, which happens often, since am considered a longer-term doggie (arrived Feb. 7th), besides being left here by my human, so am at risk of being euthanized, to be no more. If it comes to pass, I will then be dumped into a black, garbage bag..., as if I didn't matter, with no one or very few remembering I ever existed, holding my memory in their heart of hearts. I am only about 13 months old, am a baby, don't know why left in this scary place. I was very afraid when first came here, so much afraid, that my whole body would shake. I've been trying to be brave and little by little, less afraid, but still have a ways to go. Now, though, do take treats from the volunteers, very much like them, and get close to them so they can pet me, helps me feel less afraid, even wag my tail sometimes now. I am mostly stuck in my kennel, though, all alone, since so many doggies here at the shelter, not enough volunteers, so I only get out and get to see the volunteers outside my kennel 2 times a week for about 20 minutes each time. I need a loving home, not a place where am mostly alone, which doesn't help enough for me to be less afraid. I am very young, but not the jumpy type at all, am the observant type. I've met some boy doggies on leash. Did a little sniffing, but then walked away, with my tail tucked. Last boy doggie I met, started off with my tail wagging, but then he got energetic in his wanting to play, and I got afraid, tucked my tail, I kind of froze. I just need to learn how to be a doggie with other doggies, to trust. Please come visit me. Maybe take me home? I won't have to be afraid anymore with you. Come. Human speaking here now, please, please, if have the ability to adopt, even foster (different process-which I can explain), Kerensa, any of the dogs listed at the shelter on here, many more that aren't listed, come out to Chicago Animal Care and Control, contact this page. These dogs aren't 'just' at risk of being euthanized, tragic on its own, but spend most of their time in their kennels, tragedy upon a tragedy, to be caged up so much. It shows what great dogs they are, that they are able to still continue to be great, even though spend most of their time in there, all alone. Please, come out, give Kerensa a chance, give them a chance. If want to see other wonderful doggies, besides Kerensa, at Chicago Animal Care and Control, who are also in great need of finding a loving home, scroll down and click on, 'Chicago Animal Care and Control, left hand side of page. Come.
