About Dakota

Dakota is my older sister boyfriend's dog, but has been abandoned. We want to avoid sending him to a kill shelter, but most non-kill shelters will not take him. Dakota is reactive and isn't used to being around strangers or new environments. When it comes to loud noises, he tends to bark and/or growl. He can be skittish and will require a lot of patience. He does get lonely and starts to whine and howl, but stops after a while if he's left alone. He started off indoors when he was a puppy, but transitioned to being an outdoors dog when he got too big. When it comes to being put inside a crate, he does growl in protest, but stops once the crate is locked. He doesn't attack the crate.
