Rye is only 16 months old'| and she almost didn't make it out of a high kill shelter She was saved from the euthanasia list, scared and unsure of the world around her. It's clear Rye hasn't always known kindness. When she first came into foster, she was very fearful of people, keeping her guard up at all times-like she was just waiting for something bad to happen. But Rye found comfort in other dogs. Through them, she's slowly learning that maybe'| just maybe'| not all people are bad. She's still a nervous girl who takes time to trust. She's not the kind of dog who will run up for cuddles right away. She prefers love on her own terms and needs patience to feel safe. But once she lets you in, she forms a quiet, loyal bond that is truly special. Rye would do best in a home with another friendly dog to help guide her, and she can do well with kids who understand to give her space and go at her pace. Rye deserves someone who sees her not for who she is today-but for who she is trying so hard to become. She didn't get the best start in life'| but she still has so much love to give. She just needs someone willing to go slow, to be patient, and to believe in her.
