About Pietro

Help me. Am in danger since considered a longer-term doggie here at the shelter (arrived Feb. 3rd) and also, left here by my human, so when the shelter gets over-capacity, which it often does, tragically, may be euthanized, then dumped in a plastic garbage bag..., nothing will be left of me in the end, no one will hold my memory in their heart of hearts. I am only about 5 years old, so many years left to live, to love, to be loved, if given a chance. Please come take me home with you, please love me. I don't know why my human left me here, am a good boy. I keep looking across the fence when out in the shelter yard, for my human, hoping they come back. Sometimes I cry and whine while looking out, even try to open the gate with my paw, to try to get out and find my people. It's also kind of scary here, so not like what I am used to. I very much like it when I snuggle with the volunteers, helps me forget that I am afraid, but that doesn't happen often, since so many doggies here, not enough volunteers. I know my sit pretty well, am the gentle type. Met a doggie on leash, was polite, not the pushy type. Come out to meet me, please. Maybe take me home? I won't have to be afraid anymore with you, will have my own special human, again, which I so much want, so much need. Come. These dogs aren't 'just' at risk of being euthanized, very real risk, tragic on its own, but spend most of their time in their kennels, which is a tragedy upon a tragedy, to be locked up so much. It shows what great dogs they are, that they are able to still continue to be great, even though caged up for much of the time. Come out and visit.
