Each return has been due to behaviors that are very consistent with his breed-high energy, strong prey drive, reactivity, escape attempts, and anxiety in stimulating environments. While Petey has many wonderful qualities-he is affectionate, intelligent, quick to learn, and thrives with routine-his adopters have repeatedly been unprepared for the level of management and structure a Jack Russell requires. Petey has shown he is capable of learning quickly (leave-it, go-to-bed/place, quiet, walking manners, etc.) and does well with calm structure. He is affectionate with people, enjoys walks, and can settle nicely after proper exercise. Like all JRT's he needs a securely fenced yard. This little guy needs a lot of exercise and training. Hopefully his new owner will not be gone all day. Petey is vaccinated and neutered. He's very healthy and heartworm free.
