About INDIE

Indie is a 14-year-old Yorkie with a gentle spirit who is looking for a quiet, understanding home to spend her golden years. When she first arrived at the shelter, she was calm and reserved, taking everything in with quiet patience. As she's settled in, Indie has shown us she has a bit more personality-and like many senior dogs who are blind, she can become unsure and may react by nipping if she feels startled or uncomfortable. With the dedicated volunteers who have taken the time to move slowly and earn her trust, Indie truly shines. Once she feels safe, she enjoys her walks, fresh air, and companionship, often seeming years younger as she explores the world in her own way. Indie will need a special adopter-someone patient, gentle, and experienced enough to understand her needs and respect her boundaries. A calm, predictable home without children would be best for her. Because of her unique situation, she will be introduced by appointment only. What Indie wants most is simple: a soft place to rest, a steady routine, and a kind person who will help her feel safe and loved. We would love to see her spend her remaining time in a real home, surrounded by comfort and compassion rather than shelter walls.
