This gorgeous girl is Octavia who appears to be a Maine Coon/Domestic Mix. Born on or about May 1, 2022, Octavia was a member of a litter of three; all girls. On June 16, 2022, I took Octavia and her sisters Ambrosia and Olympia in as rescues. In advance of their intake they were living in Chesterfield County in St. John Wood with their mother and eight of her offspring from previous litters. The family that was feeding them had reached out on Facebook asking for assistance, overwhelmed by the growing number of cats they were feeding and the increasing complaints by their neighbors. Octavia and her siblings were approximately six weeks old at their intake, smaller than average six week olds likely because of the volume of cats and short supply of cat food. While I had initially planned to only assess them my first visit, I elected to take them with me concerned for their safety and the apparent overwhelm of their caretakers. Octavia and her sister, Ambrosia, were adopted as a pair on August 10, 2022. On Saturday, March 21, 2026, their adoptive mom reached out to me via text asking if I could assist her in rehoming Octavia and Ambrosia, who she renamed Betty, as she will be moving in with her daughter who has four young children and five pets. As a result of their mom's pending move, Octavia and Ambrosia are in need of a new home. Having lived together for just under four years Octavia and Ambrosia are a bond pair and will need to be adopted as a pair. They are both absolute dears, kitty purrfection. The girls enjoy snuggling and cuddling with their mom and her grand children. Both have greatly enjoyed engaging with their mom's grandson and his plastic dinosaurs, marching in and out of them when he arranges them on the floor. Both girls are lap sitters and enjoy keeping their mom company. Toys are a must they love them, all varieties-feather wands, fuzzy mice, plastic springs and jingle balls. Big girls, with Octavia weighing in at 16.3 pounds and Ambrosia at 14.3 pounds. They have been spayed, combo tested negative for feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus, rabies and distemper vaccinated and microchipped. Octavia has worn claw caps, usually pink in color, since living with her adoptive mom and is agreeable to have her claws trimmed. An all round wonderful kitty girl. If you are interested in becoming Octavia and sister Ambrosia's new human please feel free to contact me. I do when possible like to receive a vet reference for potential adopters.
