About Luna

Meet Luna! Luna is a beautiful Chow Chow mix with a sweet, loyal personality who is looking for the right home where she can truly thrive. She loves being close to her person and will happily follow you around like a little shadow. Luna enjoys belly rubs, peanut butter, and relaxing (even holding your hand sometimes). While she's not a big cuddler, she does love being near you and sharing your space. She's generally calm, enjoys short walks, and doesn't bark much aside from when someone knocks at the door. Luna does have an anxious and sensitive temperament. She would do best in a calm, structured home with someone who is patient and understands more reserved or protective breeds. She **must be the only pet in the home**, as she is not good with other dogs or animals. She also does best in a quieter environment without a lot of stimulation. Luna can be sensitive to certain types of handling, especially around her head, so slow and respectful interactions are important. I want to be fully transparent that Luna recently had a bite incident during a moment where she appeared to feel startled or uncomfortable. Prior to this, she had not shown that level of aggression. This experience made me realize that her anxiety, combined with my work schedule, may not be setting her up for success in my home. Luna is not a bad dog-she is a good, loving dog who simply needs the right environment. With my current schedule, she spends long hours kenneled, and I'm not able to give her the time, consistency, and presence she needs to feel secure. I truly believe she would do so much better in a home where someone is around more often and can give her the patience and stability she deserves. This is not an easy decision, and I care deeply about her. My goal is to find her a safe, experienced, and loving home where she can feel comfortable and thrive.
