About Maizie

If you're looking for a fun-loving snuggle bug as your new adventure buddy, Maizie is the dog for you! This sweet girl was rescued as a teen mom near Acoma, New Mexico but after her puppies found homes, has made her way to Colorado in hopes of finding the living home she deserves. Maizie is a 2-year-old Shepherd/Heeler x. She is a perfect small-medium size and has a medium energy level so she would do well in any size home. So far she's done great meeting all sizes and shapes of dog and had ignored the cats in her new foster home. She is playful and loves friends but is very people-focused so would be fine as an only dog. Maizie is fixed, dewormed, and current on her vaccinations. She rides well in a car. She is treat-motivated, house and crate-trained. She walks pretty well on a leash but will need a little more training to not pull when she's excited. She's a little timid in adjusting likes having her crate as a safe space. Maizie is very affectionate and loves people and belly rubs. She's a wonderful dog and do well in almost any home, as long as she can get out for some good walks and hikes!
