Today might be #TalkLikeWilliamShakespeareDay & #TalkLikeWilliamShatnerDay... but unofficially (& more importantly), it's #TalkAboutWillowDay who has A LOT to get to #UpToSpeed on as we approach April! If you don't know Willow, then you haven't watched the last few months of Long Beach Animal Care Services #Playgroup videos (where she thrived) or the shelters plea for help when Willow was placed on the urgent-list for her behavior in kennel (where she was miserable). After 4 months of being at the shelter & being added to the shelters list of dogs in urgent need of help, Willow was given the opportunity of a lifetime for any #ShelterDog by being selected into the coveted #DieselProject offered exclusively in part by K9 Kismet Dog Rescue ! And if you haven't hear of the Diesel Project yet, you're really missing out on some BIG NEWS! The DIESEL Project supports shelter dogs who struggle in kennel environments, pairing them with professional trainers and structured guidance to help them build confidence and move forward toward adoption. Willow has enjoyed the last few weeks under the wings of an experienced trainer, and the updates from K9 Kismet break it down splendidly: 'Through the DIESEL Project, Willow was given the gift of time. Time to slow down, to learn, and to build confidence with gentle guidance and support. Just a couple of weeks into her program with @robertvillaneda we're already seeing her walls come down and her personality begin to shine through. Underneath that initial shyness is a playful, social girl who truly wants to connect. Willow walks beautifully on leash, rides calmly in the car, and does great with other dogs. While she may be a little shy when meeting someone new, her soft, sweet nature is something truly special and worth nurturing. In a home, we know she's going to continue to blossom in the most beautiful ways'| especially if she has a friendly canine companion to help show her the ropes. ' As a DIESEL Project student, Willow's adopter will also receive a complimentary training session to help set everyone up for success. Willow has come a long way, now it's time to have Willow transition from her training camp straight into a home through adoption, foster, or rescue. HI!
