About Kenny

Kenny is a friendly, active dog whose elderly owner cannot care for him anymore due to health issues. He is an angel with people and extremely eager to please. He loves playing in the woods and swimming, so he would be an amazing companion for an outdoorsy person. He is also highly motivated and loves to engage with his human, so something like rally obedience would definitely appeal to him. He is crate trained, e-collar trained, and off leash trained. He walks and bikes beautifully on the leash. I have personally trained him on functional obedience and integrated him into my pack (3 males and 1 female), which is why I indicated that he is good with most dogs. However, he requires a person with a 'pack leader' attitude in order to maintain this, and any dogs he is with must also be balanced and under the human's control. He gets along best with dogs who have soft energy and are not looking for confrontation. I marked his temperament as 'average' because he is submissive towards people, but when I first started working with him he exhibited dominance towards other dogs. However, now that he feels secure in my leadership and understands my expectations, he behaves very differently around them and does not pursue dominance disputes. He has been around a cat (who knows to avoid dogs), and he can leave them alone if the person is supervising and directing him, but I definitely wouldn't suggest putting him in a cat-centered household as his prey drive will always be present and require attention in that context. I have included some clips of him off leash with my dogs and passing other dogs while biking as these are what I had available on my phone, but I am happy to demonstrate any of his abilities in person or with additional videos. He has a history of seasonal allergies which are managed well with Apoquel.
