Olaf is a gentle and tolerant 4-year-old Mastiff mix currently in boarding, though this is only a temporary solution. He came to us as a stray with multiple wounds and signs of long-term neglect, yet he has remained friendly and easy to handle with people. Despite his past, Olaf continues to show kindness and a calm demeanor with staff and volunteers. Weighing 80 pounds, Olaf is underweight but improving with regular care and feeding. He is up to date on vaccines and has had a full medical workup, with results pending. He has some old facial scars, pressure sores on his legs and paws, ear tip irritation, and a 'happy tail' injury that may require partial amputation. Once Olaf is strong enough then he will be scheduled to be neutered. Olaf is comfortable with full handling, shows no guarding behaviors, and has been dog-tested with a calm female outside of the kennel; proper introductions are required. He is best suited for a pet-free home or a calm female dog in a structured environment. His compatibility with cats is unknown. Olaf struggles in a kennel environment and urgently needs a foster or foster-to-adopt home where he can decompress and experience comfort and stability. Rescue will cover all approved expenses, and we prefer placement within 60 minutes of Jackson, NJ. If you can provide a foster or foster-to-adopt home for Olaf, please apply at Pittiesandpals.com. Many other dogs need our help, please consider donating or sponsoring a dog, if possible. 100% of all money received from adoption fees and donations goes directly back to support saving other dogs through Pitties and Pals Rescue.
