Adoption Fee: 100$
Australian Shepherd
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Cody is easily the best dog I've ever had, I am emotional as I write this. He is the sweetest, most loving and cuddly 80lb teddy bear. I love this dog so, so much. I don't want to give him up but I feel so guilty constantly as I leave him home all day to work. He truly just deserves more than what I can give him. That's all it is. I'm never home. He sits in my apartment every day sooo well behaved. Doesn't bark, chew or destroy anything, doesnt get into trouble or have accidents. Just patiently waits. I've had to leave him up to 12 hrs sometimes and he has never had an accident. He is in his prime and I just want him to go to someone who will be able to love him and play with him. He listens to all basic commands- sit stay shake and 'Go' when I need him to leave the room. He really, really wants to be at your feet all day but will patiently wait outside your door and be independent when you need him to. He walks great on the leash, and does wonderful off leash also. He always comes when called and follows because he mostly just wants to be next to his people at all times. He grew up with my young daughter and loooves kids. He snuggles and plays with my cat, and does wonderful at the dog park. The beach is his favorite place. I can throw a ball into the waves and he'll dive in, he loves swimming in the lake and can fetch a ball thrown far out into the water. His coat doesn't get stinky even after playing all day in the water, but he does shed a lot so fair warning!! The only other negative besides shedding is his vocal habits, which I find more funny than anything. He's a talker for sure, but if you're familiar with his breed then that's a given. He 'growls' while he plays and some people find it alarming but he is nottt aggressive whatsoever. He has never bit anyone or another dog but he has tried to 'dominate' a non fixed male. It's not common but I'm just trying to be fair and mention it. He plays really well with 99% of dogs! He wags his tail as he talks, he doesn't mean anything by it. I can demonstrate with tug of war if you come to meet him. An Aussie veteran will understand what I'm talking about lol. But that really is his only drawback. He also gets really excited with new people but the energy dissipates pretty fast. He is usually in 'chill mode'. Cody does very well eating around other dogs etc. so if there's another dog in the house you can feed them along side each other. He might hoard a toy or a ball but he'll give anything up with a 'drop' command. I'm going on and on, he is really just an amazing dog. He just needs more stimulation- I'm a single mom who's been having to work more and more doubles to be able to afford my raising rent and it just really isn't fair to him. He means so much to me,I can't stand worrying about how lonely and sad he must feel all day long while I'm gone. He is such a people pleaser / social guy that it breaks my heart to leave him day after day in my apartment. Please don't hesitate to reach out with questions . I will wait to find the perfect person. Cody is truly one of a kind PS- the adoption fee can be negotiated. I just want to be sure he'll go to a good home
