RESCUES NEED FOSTERS- CA ANYONE HELP? CHOW OR SIMILAR BREED EXPERIENCE REQUESTED We are in urgent need of finding a chow savvy foster or foster to adopt, as well as rescue for this beautiful but very neglected girl who ended up at the county kill shelter as an stray with a coat in dire need of grooming. Fondly named Virginia by the shelter, she is estimated to be 6 years old and has no mentioned medical issues. At 41 lbs, she is also perfectly sized. We have sweet video showing her totally calm around many other dogs, as well as enjoying being pet. Not surprising, though, the shelter said, she 'Virginia Hill is a fragile soul who's had a rough start, and she's looking for a rescue angel to help her begin again! This underweight, severely matted Chow Chow arrived scared and unsure, carrying the kind of worry that only time and kindness can soften. She's currently being treated for kennel cough, and despite everything, she's trying her best to trust the world again. With people, Virginia is timid and cautious, but she watches quietly, taking in every gesture. She's learning that gentle voices and slow movements mean safety. Through the fenceline, she has shown curiosity toward other dogs with no signs of aggression. Virginia Hill needs a rescue that can give her the patience, medical care, and emotional space she deserves. Underneath the mats and fear is a dog who wants to believe in kindness again. If your rescue can offer a soft landing for a scared girl ready for her second chance, Virginia is waiting for you! https://youtube.com/shorts/SdVj3-R4GVg?feature=share' Due to her condition, the shelter has yet to make her adoptable, and she remains in Rescue only status, meaning only a rescue group can save her. Rescue groups need fosters, or someone interested to foster to adopt. She cannot be adopted directly from the shelter at this time. although we are happy to try to request this for you, but it may not be possible. Virginia has now been at this high intake shelter for several weeks and may be placed on a deadline soon in a full shelter, or euthanized without warning. Therefore, if you are chow or similar breed savvy, and can foster or foster to adopt, please contact [email protected] asap or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to find placement asap, and can try to pair fosters or interested parties with a willing rescue group. Ideally, we need a foster near the shelter or in N Cal. Shelter has offered to spay, vaccinate, microchip and heartworm test at No cost to a rescue. Some Transport to a rescue can also likely be arranged, please contact [email protected]. Rescue groups may contact the shelter directly by emailing the rescue coordinator at [email protected] or calling (916) 875-7982 or (916) 368-7387 .
