(willing to drive up to 50 miles). EST. 5 Y/O MALE BLACK SHEPHERD MIX (DOB: Estimated 12/15/21). His name is 'Snoop'. Background: Snoop was rescued in May 2022 from an abusive home. The previous people were not kind to Snoop, especially the man. The Current Shepherd Parent stepped in when he was at risk of being dumped or let loose. UTD on shots WITH record. Fixed. Good with kids. Good with dogs. Unknown with cats. House trained. Crate trained. Any known medical issues?: None known, but does have Anxiety and Stranger Fear. Abuse/Neglect/Trauma History?: YES - previously abused, especially by a male. This has led to fear-based behaviors. ENERGY LEVEL: High. PREY DRIVE LEVEL: Medium. Weighs 70 lbs. Currently on Sports Mix High Protein food. Good with car rides?: Yes. Socialized with: *people?: No. *dogs?: Yes. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): No - Snoop has Stranger Fear, especially toward men, particularly those wearing hats and beards (known triggers). Behavior Notes: Snoop may lunge when scared, but has NEVER bitten. This is Fear-based, NOT aggression. Proper Introductions are critical, and avoiding known triggers (like hats) helps him feel safe. Loves: Playing in water, BarkBox toys, cuddling, walks, chilling on the couch, playing with kids and dogs, balls, fetch, sleeping in bed with his person, being close to his person, chew toys, and bones. *Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: This breed is super intelligent. *Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): Yes. *Good on a Leash?: Yes. *Lovable?: This breed is incredibly loyal and loving once trust is built. *Eager and fast learner?: Yes - especially with consistency and patience. Bite History?: NONE. Vet Notes: Snoop needs to be muzzled at the vet once in the back room due to fear. The vet has confirmed this is fear-based behavior, NOT aggression, and has prescribed Trazodone for visits. NOTES FROM CURRENT SHEPHERD PARENT: 'Snoop is the sweetest boy and protective over his people. He will love you endlessly once he is comfortable. I have loved every second of taking care of him.' Re Homing because�'�|: The Current Shepherd Parent is going through major life changes and is no longer able to keep Snoop. She wants to ensure he finds a stable, loving home.
