About Kooper

Meet Kooper !! This guy is super sweet and easy going!! Sadly his owner fell on hard times and surrendered him and his friend Kasha(posted separately) to a local shelter. He seems to have came from a place where he was very spoiled and loved. He is looking for the same in his new home. Kooper is approx. 13 years old. He is a male and weighs 16 pounds and is full grown. He is supposed to be a Shih tzu type mix but doesn't look much like the breed. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. He is thankfully heartworm negative and on monthly preventions. He just had a dental cleaning as well. Kooper is really a delightful little dog. Don't let his age fool you he's still got a lot of life left to live. He is clearly used to the good life. He is a low energy guy but still fun and playful. He would be an ideal dog for a lot of different family types. He absolutely loves to be held and cuddle. He has been very good with his training so far. He is good on car rides. He is crate trained but has not been destructive if left out. He can be a little whiny in the crate when he misses you but nothing to bad. He is leash trained. He has been doing great with his potty training. Overall easy to have around. Kooper is great around everyone he meets. He has been loving and sweet with kids as well. He's been a gentle guy around kids. As with any dog, he does need to be with kids that don't treat him like a toy. He is fine around other dogs of any size but really doesn't care if there's another dog in the home or not. He exists around them without any issues but isn't super playful with them. He isn't fostered with cats but his previous owner said he was fine with them. He currently has a lower energy level. He doesn't need much exercise to be happy. He enjoys going outside for a few to explore around the yard, or for a short walk. After that he is happy to cuddle and hang out with you. Kooper has not had any trouble sharing food, treats or toys with humans or other dogs. He takes treats very gently and is overall a gentle easy going boy. This guy is looking for someone to spoil him and give him the good life he is accustom to. He is going to make an excellent companion for you in return. Already trained and low key.
