Meet Oso, a handsome and deeply loyal 75-pound German Shepherd turning nine this May. Having served as an emotional support animal, Oso is a true 'velcro dog' who forms an incredibly strong, protective bond with his humans. Despite being an older gentleman, he is very playful and active, so he is looking for a loving family with a yard where he can run around. His natural herding instincts mean he will chase running kids thinking it's a game, so he would thrive best in an adult-only home or one with older, dog-savvy teenagers. One of his most endearing qualities is his gentle nature with other pets; he lives peacefully alongside a Chihuahua, and while he gets along with the family cat, he is actually a little bit afraid of it! We are urgently looking to rehome Oso ASAP because I travel for work and my wife is battling cancer, leaving us unable to give him the active care and attention he needs. If you understand the beautiful loyalty of a Shepherd and can provide a relaxing, safe home with a yard, Oso will be the perfect, devoted companion.
