Xander is 8 to 10 years is neutered and micro chipped male. He is a friendly Australian Sheppard/ Red Heeler dog who gets along with small medium dogs and cats. He is well behaved and will even bring you his leash when he wants to go outside to potty. Now that Xander is older, he started to develop hip dysplasia which the vet mentioned that is typical in this breed & develops as they get older. Xander's Owner passed away recently and he is currently living in an upstairs apartment, so it would be best if his next home is a ground level apartment or house. He has all his vaccinations & was well taken care of by former owner. Although, former owner did spoil him with people food & Xander is overweight. Please note that an extended family member has been focusing on Xander's weight management with daily walks & healthy dog food (no people food), Xander is already seeing great success-he has much more energy and is walking significantly better. Meanwhile, the extended family member, who is unable to take in the deceased loved one's pet, is currently doing everything possible to keep him comfortable-providing food, walks, and companionship-but have been unable to find any relatives, friends, or community members (neighbors) who can take him in. The apartment where Xander is currently residing is temporary & the extended family member has been only given a short amount of time to remove & move out everything from the apartment, so Xander will need to be rehomed ASAP! So please HELP. A Foster home would be a really good option for Xander right now until, since he will have to leave his former home soon! Everything has to be moved out of the apartment & Xander will lose his home by Thurs March 19th,2026. *Please contact ASAP!*. Thank you.
