About Hank

It is with a sad heart that I look to rehome our Hank. We found Hank as a stray up North in Baldwin, MI back in May 2025 and we rescued him from the elements. He was covered in ticks (76 to be exact) and 15 pounds under weight. He is crate trained, now neutered and potty trained. He knows how to sit and loves attention and snuggles. The reason we need to find him a new home is because we have another male dog in our home (Blu). Overall they get along great and are buddies until it comes to resources like toys, food, or a sometimes people. Hank and Blu have been in a few fights over toys or food and Blu has been injured. Lately Hank has also been marking territory around the house that he thinks is dominated by Blu. I have talked with other owners of male dogs and it sounds like the competition never ends between the two, therefore we need to find a new place where Hank can thrive, and Blu can be safer. At times Blu can be the aggressor and Hank will walk away, more of a playful aggression. He does well around cats once they get used to each other, but sometimes our barn cats are annoyed by him and will swat at him. He would do great around kids, but sometimes when he is excited he jumps around a lot, especially in the morning. He's active but not hyper, he doesn't bark a whole lot. We have seen so much improvement in him since the beginning as far as listening to us, as he does aim to please. We guesstimate his age to be around 3 years old. We had every intention of keeping him, but we are not seeing an end of the competition between him and Blu, so we have to give him up to be fair to Blu. He is chipped and we did do a DNA test.
